Former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has advised one of the club's stars to leave the Emirates ahead of the new season.

Former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is encouraging Eddie Nketiah to join Marseille this summer, despite having recently left the French club himself.

Aubameyang, who signed with Al-Qadsiah earlier this month, responded to a fan's message on social media, saying: "Already done" when asked to tell Nketiah to join Marseille.

Aubameyang's response has given Marseille fans hope that a deal for Nketiah will be completed.

Nketiah has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 side, but the transfer has been delayed due to Arsenal and Marseille being unable to agree on a price.

Aubameyang's intervention may help push the deal forward.

Nketiah, who has played 168 games for Arsenal, scoring 38 goals and providing seven assists, slipped down the pecking order last season and barely featured in the Premier League run-in. A move away from the Emirates could refresh his career.

Aubameyang's endorsement of Nketiah's potential move to Marseille has sparked excitement among fans, who hope to see the Englishman form a deadly partnership with ex-Manchester United man Mason Greenwood.
