The Black Stars of Ghana have been left reeling after failing to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025, and one heartbroken fan has pointed fingers at Nigerians for their team's disastrous campaign.

In a passionate post, the fan expressed his belief that Nigerians had somehow influenced the outcome of the match.
“You can’t tell me it’s not Nigerians. They prayed we don’t win; even if we scored, we don’t win. This is what happened; it is the Nigerian agbara,” he lamented.
He went on to state that he would blame Nigerians more than the Black Stars players themselves for the failure to secure a victory.
Ghana's hopes of qualifying for AFCON 2025 were already hanging by a thread going into the match, needing a win to keep their slim chances alive.
They initially took the lead with a stunning free-kick from Jordan Ayew in the 18th minute, but Angola equalised in the second half through Zini, extinguishing any hopes of a comeback for the Black Stars.
This result marks a significant blow for Ghana, as it is the first time since 2004 that they will miss out on Africa's premier football tournament.
The team has struggled throughout the qualifiers, finishing at the bottom of Group F with just three points from five matches.
As Ghanaians reflect on this disappointing chapter in Ghana’s football history, calls for accountability and a reassessment of the team's management and strategy are growing louder.
The fan's comments about Nigerian interference have sparked a wave of reactions online, with many Nigerians responding with mockery and disbelief at the claims.
While Ghana looks to regroup and address its shortcomings ahead of future competitions, this AFCON disaster will linger in the memories of fans who have come to expect more from their storied national team.
