Zimbabwe coach Michael Nees has mocked Nigeria with the amount of points they have in Group C following Tuesday’s draw.
The Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe in their 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday.
Despite dominating the game, Nigeria had to wait until the 74th minute when Victor Osimhen cleverly netted a late goal.
However, the Warriors earned a vital point in Uyo after Tawanda Chirewa's last-minute goal in the 90th minute dashed the Super Eagles' hopes.

Coach Nees was upbeat after the game and was questioned about his team's prospects of reaching the next World Cup.

He said, as shared on X, “I said before that the World Cup qualification is over when it is over. If it is over for us then it is over for Nigeria also.“
His statement made the Nigerian journalists burst into laughter, and he replied, “You’re laughing, how many points do you (Nigeria) have?”
Nigeria's Super Eagles are currently in fourth in Group C of the World Cup Qualifiers, holding seven points after six games following their match against Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles have just four games left to savage their chances of making it to the World Cup.
