'Alhamdulillah' - Zaidu Sanusi gives thanks to God for Porto's Cup victory.

Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Zaidu Sanusi has taken to social media to celebrate Porto's Cup victory.

Porto recorded a 2-0 victory against Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese League Cup final played on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Stephen Eustaquio converted a ball through to him by Wendell as early as the 10th minute to give Porto the lead.

Marcus Edwards put the ball in the back of the net for Sporting Lisbon but was ruled out Video Assitant Referee (VAR) as Porto went to the break with a goal lead.

Paulinho was sent off for Sporting Lisbon as Ivan Marcano pounced on a ball by Pepe to put Porto two goals up.

Porto held on for the win against a 10-man Sporting Lisbon to lift the title.

Sanusi celebrates Porto's Cup victory

Sanusi came off the bench in the 78th minute for Wendell who provided the first goal.

The Super Eagles defender took to his official social media platforms to celebrate the latest title with Porto.

In a message on his official Instagram account, Sanusi shared his thought on the victory in Hausa.

Translated to history, Sanusi said,  "Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah today I want to use this time to convey a message of thanks to my relatives, friends, and loved ones. 

"I wish everyone the best in life, may God bless you in this world and the hereafter, Ameen Ameen 🤲🙏!! 

"The 28th of this month was a day full of happy things in football that I will never forget. 

"In the history of the country, the beer has not won the Taça Cup and one league from the Portuguese Cup. Thank you very much for your care."

Sanusi returns to action for Porto when they take on Maritomo in their next league clash scheduled for Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
