KCB came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against AFC Leopards on Sunday afternoon.

KCB FC head coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno has revealed he is happy with substitutes Nicholas Kipkirui and Francis Kahiro for their impact against AFC Leopards, after coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 on Sunday.

Otieno revealed that, although he would have preferred his side to grab all the three points, he was at least content with the fact that his side snatched a point.

“It was tough. We gave two very easy goals away in the first minute. One in the second minute and the other in the 45th minute,” he said, “It would have been difficult to come back considering the opposition we were playing against,” he added.

"But I am happy we were able to come back and snatch something from this game. It is not easy. When you are 2-0 down against AFC Leopards, it is not easy for you to come back, but I am very proud of my players.”

The tactician, however, was quick to slam his team’s profligacy that would have given them all three points.

“We missed some very easy goal-scoring opportunities. We were going to win it, but I cannot complain.

The former Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars assistant coach was quick to also praise the impact his substitutes made as Francis Kahiro and Nicholas Kipkirui both came off the bench before combining to level the tie late into the match.

“You need your players to come off the bench and do a good job to help the team. Everybody did well.”

KCB will now face Tusker at the Nyayo National Stadium on Wednesday in the quarter-finals of the FKF Cup.
