Davido x Puma 2.0 Release is incredibly striking but customers might have to break the bank to get it.
Afrobeats icon Davido has once again teamed up with global sportswear giants PUMA for the highly anticipated Davido x Puma 2.0 collection.
The new release is an evolution of their earlier collaboration, featuring a stylish lineup that merges streetwear aesthetics with Nigerian cultural influences
From sneakers to tees, hoodies to track jackets, the collection is a statement of both fashion and identity reflecting Davido's personality and love for Afrobeats.
The collection was first officially unveiled in New York, where Davido expressed his excitement on social media, saying, "I have my own shoe,” in an Instagram story he shared with his 29.5 million followers.
Davido’s collaboration with Puma comes amidst an online feud with fellow Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, who recently targeted the ‘Unavailable’ crooner with harsh criticism and a derogatory nickname that has already set the internet ablaze.
During the launch in New York, the 31-year-old Atlanta-born singer and performer also stated that the first collaboration with the sportswear giants – the ‘We Rise By Lifting Others’ collection was initially done as an experiment between he and the brand following its struggles to completely sell out as many would have expected.
However, with a hefty price tag attached to the Davido x Puma: 2.0 release, it seems that fans in Nigeria may have to dig deep to own a piece of this exclusive collaboration.
Davido x Puma 2.0: A bold fashion statement with a hefty price tag
While the designs are certainly inspiring, the price range has already raised eyebrows, especially among Nigerian fans.
With the Nigerian economy struggling and exchange rates fluctuating, owning a piece of the Davido x Puma 2.0 collection may be a luxury few can afford.
Prices start at ₦69,600 for both the PUMA x Davido 30BG tees or the PUMA x Davido Baddest tees.
But the more premium items—like the sleek Archive Track Jacket priced at over ₦240,000 or the Puma x Davido CA Pro sneakers at ₦244,900—are well beyond the reach of many.
As the collection becomes available for pre-order, it’s clear that this release is as much about making a statement as it is about the fashion.
After a store launch in New York, the Puma global ambassador seemingly confirmed he and the brand will be heading back to Nigeria for the launch of the new collection.
Although, the date is still unclear.
But for those looking to rock the new collaboration between Davido and Puma, breaking the bank seems inevitable.
