Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido couldn't resist poking fun at Canadian rapper Drake after his staggering loss of ₦950,000,000 in a bet.
The showdown between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou kicked off in the wee hours in Saudi Arabia, albeit with a delayed start.
Despite Ngannou's reputation for ferocity in MMA, he opted for a more cautious approach, relying heavily on his jab.

Joshua vs Ngannou: 3 things AJ did to knock out Cameroonian MMA fighter
Antony's victory over Ngannou in the showdown was attributed to his strategic footwork, precision striking, and exceptional conditioning. These factors combined to give him the edge and secure a knockout win in the intense battle.
However, Joshua seized the opportunity when Ngannou switched stances, landing a devastating straight right hand that sent the Cameroonian crashing to the canvas for the first time in his career.
Joshua capitalized on his momentum, relentlessly pressuring Ngannou until he succumbed to another powerful right hand, ultimately leading to a decisive knockout just two minutes and 38 seconds into the second round.
Drakes’ bet on Ngannou
Drake had placed a sizeable wager on the result of the heavyweight match between Francis Ngannou, an MMA fighter, and previous champion Anthony Joshua, picking the latter to prevail.
However, he lost the bet after waging a sum of ₦950,000,000 on Ngannou, leaving him in a massive loss.
The Canadian musician shared the lost ticket on his Instagram account and popular Nigerian Afro Beat artist Davido responded to the loss.
Davido couldn't help but make light of Drake's huge setback after seeing the rapper's pre-match betting slip which showed that he was rooting for Ngannou to beat Joshua.
The Musician replied in the comment section, "Ur ticket don cut," the afro-beats, playfully taunting Drake.
Interestingly, this isn't Drake's first foray into sports betting. In March 2023, he celebrated a betting victory when he placed his bets on Nigerian fighter Israel Adesanya to defeat Alex Pereira at UFC 287, walking away with a substantial $2.7 million after Adesanya claimed the middleweight title.
