The Red Devils no.10 stormed New York dressed like a rapper to attend an NBA game after being ignored for England's international fixtures.
Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has landed in hot water with fans after attending an NBA game in New York during the international break.
The 27-year-old, who was left out of England’s squad for the matches against Greece and Ireland, made the most of his downtime by jetting off to the United States.
The Red Devils star was spotted courtside at Madison Square Garden, where he watched the New York Knicks narrowly edge out the Brooklyn Nets 124-122 in a thrilling NBA Cup match.
Rashford even mingled with high-profile names like NFL icon and Birmingham City co-owner Tom Brady and Hollywood actor Ben Stiller.
Donning a bold designer outfit and diamond necklace that screamed extravagance, he posed with Knicks star Jalen Brunson and even bagged a signed jersey, sharing his excitement on Instagram.
“Great game, Jalen. Thanks for the [Knicks] jersey. Best of luck for the rest of the season!” he wrote.
Man United fans react to Rashford’s appearance at NBA game
However, while Rashford appeared to be living the dream, Manchester United fans were seething on social media, after photos from courtside emerged.
One disgruntled supporter, @BudHill4ever, voiced his frustration on social media: “What a clown.”
Another, @United_Beanz, compared Rashford’s actions to “seeing the dude who owes you cash splashing out in the club.”
“Instead of him to be on the grass running and working on his shooting, he’s outside in New York watching a basketball game,” fumed @Atankpa520879.
With new coach Ruben Amorim now at the helm, United supporters are hoping Rashford can turn his season around and regain the electric form that saw him be rewarded with a huge pay-day last year.
