The Akure-based skippers are currently holding the Guinness World Records holders for most skips on one foot in 30 seconds and 1 minute.

Philip Solomon and Gbenga Ezekiel are ready to break more skipping Guinness World Records.

The Akure-based skippers are currently holding the Guinness World Records holders for most skips on one foot in 30 seconds and 1 minute.

Gbenga and Philip are still in secondary school now set eyes on breaking more records in rope skipping on Friday, 18th August 2023.

Most skips in 30 seconds on one foot

On January 24, Solomon officially surpassed the previous record holder, Rasel Islam of Bangladesh, who had set a record of 145 skips on one foot in 30 seconds.

Four months after his attempt, Guinness World Records officially confirmed Solomon's records on their website.

The organisation said that they confirmed the records after seeing the video, and Philip was honoured to attend a skipping world championship.

However, Philip Solomon is holdingthe records of 153 skips on one foot in 30 seconds.

The records for the most skips in 30 seconds—currently held by Megumi Suzuki of Japan with 162 skips—and the most crisscross skips on one leg in 30 seconds—currently held by Himanshu Prajapathi of India with 67 skips—will both be attempted by Philip.

Philip will also try to beat the 62 skip record held by Indian Himanshu Prajapathi for the most blindfolded crisscross skips on one leg in 30 seconds.

Kenneth Godswill, a new trialist, will try to complete the most double under crossovers in a minute. Peter Thompson of the United Kingdom currently holds the record with 127 skips.

Gbenga Ezekiel

Dunsin Dubem, another up-and-coming athlete, will team up with his teammates to try to beat the record for the most double under crossovers completed in 30 seconds. With 73 skips, Ryan Eedion ONG Alonzov, a Filipino, currently holds the record.

On Friday, August 18, 2023, at the Akure Township Stadium, all attempts to break various world records will begin at 10 a.m.
