Rebekah Vardy is reportedly sweating over the bill she has been told to pay after losing in her libel case against Wayne Rooney's wife.

Rebekah Vardy, the wife of Leicester City star Jamie Vardy, is back in the headlines amid her long-standing legal battle with Coleen Rooney continues.

Vardy, who lost her high-profile defamation case in 2022, now faces the daunting prospect of paying millions in legal fees.

According to reports, the court ruled that Vardy had leaked private stories from Wayne Rooney's wife's Instagram page to the press, leading to a courtroom clash famously dubbed the "Wagatha Christie" trial.

According to Daily Star, latest development occurred on Monday, October 7, 2024, when Vardy’s legal team slammed Rooney's lawyers for what they described as an "intractable" costs dispute.

With over £1.8 million in legal fees at stake, Becky Vardy is being forced to pay 90% of Rooney’s costs, an amount that has exploded well beyond her initial expectations.

Jamie Carpenter, the legal representative for Mrs. Vardy, highlighted excessive charges like a lawyer's luxurious stay at Nobu Hotel, and slammed Rooney's team for taking a "kitchen sink" approach in their billing.

He also highlighted that it included "over £120,000 of costs to which Mrs Rooney has no entitlement".

The legal showdown between the two WAGs continues to attract attention, with both sides still entrenched in a bitter dispute.

The drama kicked off in explosive fashion when Coleen reportedly discovered her private Instagram posts were mysteriously making their way into the tabloids.

In a bid to snuff out the culprit, Coleen masterminded a crafty "sting operation" and all signs pointed to Rebekah.

Infuriated by her findings, Rooney’s wife did not hold back— publicly accusing Rebekah’s Instagram account of leaking her personal info to The Sun Newspaper.

One of such stories said to have been leaked involved Coleen supposedly jetting off to Mexico for a "gender selection" procedure.

Rebekah was also blamed for spreading gossip about Coleen making a grand TV comeback, which never happened, and a bizarre story about her basement being flooded.

Apparently, Coleen had planted these fake stories to catch the mole, and she hit the jackpot with Rebekah.

Coleen’s bold move earned her the nickname "Wagatha Christie," while Rebekah was left reeling from the fallout of the scandal.

Becky Vardy’s initial £800,000 payment towards Rooney’s legal costs was just the beginning, with the latest figure now soaring to nearly £2 million.

Vardy’s team has raised concerns over errors in the bill and described certain charges as unreasonable, including more than £120,000 in costs that they claim are unjustified.

Neither Vardy, 42, nor Rooney, 38, attended Monday's hearing, with the case set to conclude this Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

Sources close to Vardy have revealed her frustration, with one insider saying, “They’ve thrown everything at her, and she’s now facing a hefty financial burden.”

As the case rages on, Rebekah Vardy is left to grapple with the enormous costs, a far cry from the modest figure she initially expected.
