Chidi has fought in the UFC at middleweight before, but he made weight and down to welterweight despite having a bad track record of doing so.

The two extraordinarily tall welterweights exchanged blows early on, with McKee throwing straight punches and Chidi concentrating on leg kicks.
Though he stopped the majority of Rhys' shots, Njokuani eventually trailed in the strike total despite appearing to be attempting to pace himself after running out of gas in previous games.

By the third round, the bout might have been deadlocked.
McKee attempted a takedown to start the round, but he gave up on the clinch when he got there.
Even after changing levels, Njokuani was taken down, but McKee climbed back up.
Rhys managed to tighten up once more in the final two minutes of the round, but he was unable to do much damage.

However, the last thirty seconds were fought on the feet, when Njokuani appeared to deal more damage once more.
It took a while for the judges to total the numbers, and strangely, one of them gave the fight to McKee with a score of 29–28, but the other two handed it to Chidi Njokuani, who now stands at 3–3 in the UFC.
