Israel Adesanya cost Drake heavily yet again, after his defeat against Du Plessis
Canadian rapper Drake's luck with sports betting has taken another hit.
The Grammy winning megastar, known for his high-profile wagers on UFC fights, placed a colossal bet of ₦720 million (approximately $450,000) on Israel Adesanya to defeat Dricus du Plessis in the UFC 305 main event.
Unfortunately for Drake, his gamble did not pay off.
Adesanya, the Nigerian-born kiwi star, was submitted by du Plessis via a choke in the fourth round, resulting in yet another significant financial loss for the rapper.
Had Adesanya emerged victorious, Drake would have walked away with a mouth-watering ₦1.36 billion ($850,000), almost doubling his investment.

‘Drake Curse’ strikes again amid Canadian star’s betting misfortune
Drake's latest sports betting misfortune is part of an ongoing pattern of losses, particularly when betting on Adesanya.
The Toronto-born rapper had previously staked CA$2,000,000 (₦600 million) on Adesanya to win against Alex Pereira.
However, Adesanya suffered a knockout defeat just before the end of the bout, leading to another major loss for Drake.
Despite this, the rapper did experience a moment of triumph when he placed a ₦640 million ($400,000) bet on Adesanya for a knockout win in their rematch, which proved successful.
The ‘First Person Shooter’ crooner has become notorious for his betting woes, often publicizing his high-risk wagers and subsequent losses.
