At UFC 303, Jiri Prochazka wasn't pleased with how he was knocked out.

However, he moved to accuse the Brazilian of performing evil shamanic sorcery prior to that encounter which helped him win.

Israel Adesanya, the light heavyweight champion's fiercest rival, seems to be in agreement with the former 205-pound fighter, asserting that the dark magic is "real," despite the fact that many found this statement absurd.

On the most recent episode of "JRE MMA Show," Israel Adesanya spoke with Joe Rogan that he noticed a similar connection between the outcome of his last Glory match in Brazil and his lone UFC defeat to Alex Pereira.

Although everything appeared to be going Israel Adesanya's way throughout each of those fights, Pereira managed to stop "Izzy" with a knockout.

Adesanya on Pereira juju

He said, “You know what Jiri said about the whole juju thing? Like that’s real. That’s real,”

“The last time I fought him in Miami, look… the guy beat me in the biggest arena on the planet, Madison Square Garden same way as the last time he beat me in Brazil.”

“I was beating his a**, had him hurt at the end of the first round… and then he gets me in the last round.

"It’s his spirit, his whatever, like ancestors or his people, that are praying for him… The way he carries himself. Something about him just, he knows how to recover well.”

Pereira, on the other hand, doesn't really care that people question his spirituality.

It's up to each individual whether they choose to believe in spirits, he says, adding that everyone possesses them.

Given how successful he has been in his martial arts career overall, Pereira is delighted with the way his spirits have assisted and led him.
