Israel Adesanya, a former two-time UFC middleweight champion, is in a strange position before his bout against Nassourdine Imavov on the main event of UFC Saudi Arabia.

The 35-year-old is currently experiencing his first two-fight losing streak after starting his MMA career with 20 straight wins.

On Saturday, February 1, the UFC Saudi Arabia fight event will be held at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Eugene Bareman, Adesanya's head coach at City Kickboxing in Auckland, New Zealand, is taking a novel method to getting his fighter ready for his next battle because Adesanya is facing the prospect of losing three straight fights.

Adesanya has fought on 14 straight UFC PPV cards after defeating Brad Tavares in 2018, amassing a 10-4 record.

Twelve of the fights were for UFC gold. Adesanya held the title of UFC middleweight champion for two stints throughout that time.

He lost by submission to current UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 in August, which was his most recent UFC PPV bout.

The former champion lost to Du Plessis via rear-naked choke in the fourth round of their UFC 305 fight, missing the chance to win the UFC title three times.

It was the first time in Adesanya's career that she had lost via submission and now he is making changes.
