Nigeria building a strong Foundation for the Future

Beyond selecting athletes for the national team, the event served another important purpose. GAMMA Nigeria, with the valuable assistance of international judges and referees who officiated at the 13th African Games, hosted the first-ever National Referees and Judges Seminar and Certification Program.

This free program played a crucial role in developing a strong foundation for MMA officiating in Nigeria. The result? Seven new officials were certified as MMA Judges (National Level C), and one as an MMA Referee (National Level C).

This initiative highlights Nigeria's commitment to fostering a thriving MMA scene, by supporting both aspiring fighters and developing a pool of qualified officials, the country is well on its way to achieving success at the upcoming World Championship and beyond.
