After a challenging event M-Sport Ford driver Adrien Fourmaux looks forward to Rally Poland focusing on smooth gravel stages.

M-Sport Ford driver Adrien Fourmaux is determined to bounce back from a challenging Rally Italia Sardegna as he gears up for this month’s ORLEN 80th Rally Poland.

The Frenchman was running in the top three on the rugged Italian island when a puncture and subsequent alternator issue derailed his efforts, forcing his M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid out of the event.

Despite the setback, Fourmaux returned to action and was classified 15th, earning three crucial final-day points.

Fourmaux started the season strong, securing podium finishes in two of the first three rounds.

However, recent difficulties have caused him to lose ground in the championship battle.

Yet, the reigning British champion remains optimistic about his maiden trip to Mikołajki.

“The pace we showed in Sardinia was quite positive,” said Fourmaux as per WRC.com.

“We need to work a little bit in some of the slower corners, but that was something a bit more specific [for Sardinia]. It was good to take some [Wolf] Power Stage points, but we wanted more from the Super Sunday standings."

The upcoming smooth gravel rallies, including Rally Poland, present an opportunity for Fourmaux to reclaim his early-season form.

With a focus on these events, he is confident in the car's performance and eager to return to the podium.

“The smooth gravel rallies which are coming now are the focus for us and overall I’m happy with the car. It would be good to be coming back to the podium again like the start of the season – to chase more points again,” he added.

Fourmaux’s return to a full-time factory seat has been one of the highlights of the season so far.

The M-Sport driver ran third in the championship standings until last month’s Vodafone Rally de Portugal, showcasing his potential and consistency.

Rally Poland offers a different challenge compared to the rough terrain of Sardinia.
