2022 KNRC winner Karan Patel will spearhead Kenya’s quest for glory in WRC Safari Rally
Local competitors will have to part with Ksh 25,000 to compete in the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) category in Safari Rally slated for June 22-25.
The registration fee is lower than Ksh 50,000 charged by organizers who hope the comparatively low entry fees will entice more drivers to enter the competition.

The highly-anticipated event takes place from Thursday, June 22 to Sunday, June 25 in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
WRC Safari Rally Project secretary Helen Shiri stated that the KNRC entries will close on June 15, and the drivers will be eligible to score points for the category.
Several local drivers, including Evans Nzioka, Nikhil Sachania, Minesh Rathod, and Josiah Kariuki, registered for the category.
"It has never been smooth for us in the Safari Rally, all our participation ended in a Did Not Finish result," said Nzioka.
'This time, we are so determined to end the rally in one piece, we are also glad that KCB Bank were able to renew our sponsorship with them."

MOTORSPORTS Legendary FIA rally steward Willie Du Plessis passes on
Du Plessis was the Chairman of Stewards in 2021 Equator Rally.
Hamza Anwar, Jeremiah Wahome and McRae Kimathi have also entered Ford Fiesta Rally3, which they have been driving for the past two seasons and will score points in the WRC and KNRC categories.
Paraplegic driver Nikhil Sachania, who will be co-driven by Deep Patel in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X NR4, has also been registered for the KNRC category.

MOTORSPORTS Namwamba promises Safari Rally with purely 'Kenyan flavour'
The event is one of the greatest sporting contests hosted in the country and it is scheduled for Thursday, June 22 to Sunday, 25 in Nakuru County.
So far, The Safari Rally has attracted 34 drivers, including three factory teams from M-Sport Ford, Toyota Gazoo Racing and Hyundai.
