Ogier and his co-driver, Vincent Landais, were involved in a collision while preparing for one of the event's stages, leading to hospitalization for both.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning as the Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT crew members were scouting the Goldap special stage, crucial for the weekend’s rally.

Toyota Gazoo Racing released a detailed statement following the incident:
“Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT crew Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais were taken to hospital for checks following a road traffic collision during reconnaissance for Rally Poland on Tuesday morning. Two occupants of the other vehicle involved, members of the public, were also taken to hospital for medical checks."

“The safety and wellbeing of all involved remains the utmost priority of the team. Alongside this, the team is considering its options regarding any replacement and will provide an update in due course," added.
In response to the unexpected event, Toyota Gazoo Racing has been granted permission for Kalle Rovanpera and Jonne Halttunen to replace Ogier and Landais for the remainder of the rally.
This change marks a significant shift in the team dynamics and strategy for the upcoming races.
