The much-awaited Eldoret Round of the Kenyan National Rally Championship (KNRC) is all set to kick off in the morning of Saturday, August 5th, at the Rupa Mall in Eldoret.

With 15 skilled drivers vying for the coveted title, the adrenaline-fueled rally promises to be a heart-pounding spectacle.

Spectators can expect breathtaking views and adrenaline-fueled moments as the cars zoom by, leaving trails of dust in their wake, at designated points in the Kaptagat Forest and Chebiemit/Elgeyo Forest between 8:30 and 9:30 am.

Leading the pack of rallying sensations will be Jeremy Wahome and McRae Kimathi, revving up their Ford Fiesta 3 cars.

They will face stiff competition from the formidable Hamza Anwar, who will be behind the wheels of his Mitsubishi Evo 10 among other divers.

The rally features a total competitive distance of 145.20 kilometers, with four competitive stages being run twice, offering a rollercoaster of rally action throughout the day.

The challenging stages include the longest one, stretching an impressive 37.7 kilometers, and the shortest one measuring 12.5 kilometers.

In addition to the competitive stages, there will be a 170-kilometer liaison distance and a 315-kilometer overhaul distance, adding further complexity to the rally.

Before the intense competition begins, a crucial briefing for all the drivers will take place at Rupa Mall on August 4, 2023, at 1730Hrs.

This pre-rally meeting aims to provide vital information and guidelines to ensure fair play and safety throughout the event.

The meeting is also expected to emphasize the importance of punctuality, as any driver exceeding 15 minutes of lateness at the end of each section or leg, accumulating to more than 30 minutes, will be removed from the classification.

For avid rally fans and adventure enthusiasts, the designated points at Kaptagat Forest and Chebiemit/Elgeyo Forest are a must-visit.

These prime spots promise an up-close and personal experience of the heart-stopping action as the drivers navigate through challenging terrains, showcasing their skill and expertise.
