The model and partner of the former Barcelona star has taken a U-turn following the arrest of the Brazilian footballer.
The wife of Dani Alves, Joana Sanz has taken a drastic decision following the arrest of her husband for the alleged sexual assault of a 23-year-old woman in a nightclub in Barcelona.
The Canarian model, 29, who at first showed her unconditional support for the former Barcelona star on social networks, has decided to delete all the images she had with him on her Instagram profile.
The 39-year-old Brazilian footballer has been in prison for days with his alleged involvement in sexual assault still making the rounds in the media.
"I have seen many times how women come in the reserved, daring, to try something with my husband in my face.
“ If they do it in presence I do not want to imagine when I am not there. I know who my husband is, I know how I met him, I know how respectful he is because not even when he was getting to know me he disrespected me," she said shortly after her husband entered prison as per AS.
But earlier this week things began to change drastically as Joanna is reportedly dealing with both Alves' court case and the recent death of her mother as well.
There is no longer a trace of the happy moments her and Alves lived in their travels, their dinners, their laughter, their kisses, with all those posts seemingly history on her Instagram page.
Joana Sanz’s dramatic U-turn
Joana Sanz’s latest gesture has already unleashed a wave of rumors on social media with fans suggesting the pair’s relationship could well be over.
However, for now the model has not confirmed anything on the subject.
Just a few days ago she appreciated her family and friends for the support she has received while defending her husband since his arrest.
"I know that many people are worried. Now I have a moment of calm within all the storm that I have on me and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank so many people who are supporting me."
"Really, I have some beautiful messages. Not even the best books of psychology, of improvement, of encouragement, have words so beautiful and full of affection.
“And even if I don't answer them because there are so many, I read them all. It comforts me a lot that there are people who take their time to write me something so nice of encouragement.
Really, thank you very much," she said with great emotion as per a video footage via AS.
Why did Dani Alves go to prison?
The 39-year-old former Barcelona defender was arrested last week for alleged sexual assault.
Alves was taken into custody after an allegation was made against him on December 30, 2022.
The former Brazil international was at the Mossos d’Esquadra de Les Corts police station in Barcelona on Friday morning, to testify against the allegations.
He was then taken to the Ciutat de la Justicia, where he attended a court hearing.
He was sent to jail by the court without bail, while an investigation continues on the case.
So far, Alves has denied the accusations levelled against him and has left the Brians 1 prison on Monday, where he was placed on Friday, and he has been moved to Brians 2.
The authorities had taken the decision to transfer the veteran Brazilian right-back in order to guarantee his safety.
