The wife of Dani Alves has slammed reports of a possible split from her husband amid his arrest over sexual assault allegations.
The ongoing saga with Dani Alves appears to be taking a fresh twists on a daily.
The former Pumas defender was arrested last month and accused of sexual assault of a 22-year-old lady at a Barcelona nightclub.
This period has been a tough time for the 39-year-old Brazilian international who and his wife, Joana Sanz.
Reports emerged last week that Sanz was actively seeking a divorce from the footballer after the incident following Dani Alves' infidelity.
Joana Sanz herself had been going through a difficult spell recently not just because of Alves’ case but also due to the recent death of her mother.
The 29-year-old Spanish model has now shut down reports of a possible split from the former Barcelona and PSG star who has reportedly refused to meet with her face to face since his arrest.
Joana Sanz shuts down Dani Alves divorce rumours
Following the report from Leticia Requejo, a journalist of for 'El programa de Ana Rosa', that Sanz had asked the footballer for a divorce, the beautiful model has now taken to social media to demand respect for her situation.
According to a report from Marca, Sanz warned that everything that was being said was a lie, but this didn't stop Leticia Requejo, who returned with a new report just days later.
This time it was claimed that Dani Alves called his wife from prison and told her that he loved her, which didn't change her mind.
However, it is being claimed that Joana Sanz has decided to play down the divorce rumors for now because it doesn't benefit either party at this moment in time.
Sanz has since deleted all photos of herself and the footballer from her Instagram page.
Why was Dani Alves arrested?
The 39-year-old former Barcelona defender was arrested last week for alleged sexual assault.
Alves was taken into custody after an allegation was made against him on December 30, 2022.
The former Brazil international was at the Mossos d’Esquadra de Les Corts police station in Barcelona on Friday morning, to testify against the allegations.
He was then taken to the Ciutat de la Justicia, where he attended a court hearing.
He was sent to jail by the court without bail, while an investigation continues on the case.
So far, Alves has denied the accusations levelled against him and has left the Brians 1 prison on Monday, where he was placed on Friday, and he has been moved to Brians 2.
The authorities had taken the decision to transfer the veteran Brazilian right-back in order to guarantee his safety.
