The price of the drivers have already been revealed ahead of the new Formula 1 season which gets underway this weekend in Bahrain.

After over three months of the winter break, Formula 1 arrived in Bahrain at the end of February ahead of the 2023 season.

The first race of the season kicks off at the Bahrain International Circuit. 

Red Bull driver and world champion Max Verstappen remains the favourite ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

However, the 24-year-old Dutchman has never won a race in Bahrain.

Formula 1 has been coming to Bahrain since 2004, hosting the first Middle Eastern Grand Prix that year. 

The race was initially held during the day, but has since 2014, has been holding in the evening.

The last winner  of the Bahrain GP is Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who made a strong impression in the opening race of the season in 2022, and appears to be replicating the same bright start ahead of practice this weekend.

That being said, here are the Top 10 most expensive drivers in the F1 Fantasy league as we head into the first race of the new season.

9 Fernando Alonso - $8.3m

The 41-year-old Spaniard and F1 veteran will compete this season with Aston Martin as he seeks a third world championship title. 

Alonso costs $8.3m in the fantasy game and boasts a wealth of experience. Might be worth having especially as you're working on a budget.

8 Esteban Ocon - $9.4m

7 Lando Nnoris - $11.2m

6 Carlos Sainz - $17m

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz will be hoping to help Charles Leclerc with a push for the world championship this season. 

He's priced at $17m in the F1 fantasy league.

5 Sergio Perez - $18m

Sergio Perez will be looking to help his Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen retain his Formula 1 world championship this season.

The Mexican driver costs $18m in the F1 Fantasy League and is worth every penny.

4 George Russell - $18.6m

Touted as the future of the Mercedes Petronas team. Russell was super impressive for Mercedes last seaosn despiye the team's technical setbacks.

The 25-year-old British driver will be looking to help his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton win a record eighth world championship this season.

Russell's price in the Fnatasy game is $18.6m.

3 Charles Leclerc - $21.2m

Ferrari's superstar driver Charles Leclerc will be hoping to replicate his early form in the season like he did last year, winning the first Grand Prix of the season.

For all of his pole positions, Leclerc and Ferrari failed to capitalize on multiple occasions last year and will certainly be hoping to avoid a repeat of the inconsistency last year.

Touted as a serious title contender this season, Leclerc is priced at an expensive $21.2m in the F1 fantasy league.

2 Lewis Hamilton - $23.7m

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton

The 38-year-old Mercedes driver and F1 all-time great had a season to forget last year.

Hamilton will be hoping to edge his rival and defending champion Max Verstapen to the world title this season, should Mercedes fix up their car issues.

The British superstar is priced at a whopping $23.7m in the F1 Fantasy league.

1 Max Verstappen - $26.9m

The reigning world champion is once again the favourite for this year's world championship title. 

The Red Bull driver and 24-year-old Dutchman will be hoping to fend off competition from Mercedes driver Lewish Hamilton and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, beginning with the Bahrain GP this weekend.

Verstappen will be aiming for a third championship title this season, and as expected is the most expensive driver in the F1 Fantaysy league priced at a mouth-watering $26.9 million.

A must-have for your team, but you also have to be calculative in selecting the remaining drivers.

Each team consists of 5 drivers and 2 constructors. Stay within the cost cap of $100m.

Give your team a name and then login using your F1 credentials or create a free F1® account when prompted.

Choose which driver will score double points.

Pick one driver in your team to receive the DRS Boost. Any driver in your team can receive the DRS Boost which will double their score for that Grand Prix

Chips

There are six chips available but each one can only be used once during the season and you can only use one per race, so choose carefully. 

Transfers

Fine-tune your lineup for each race with transfers.

You have 2 free transfers ahead of every race for each team that you manage. If you make more than the 2 transfers, each additional transfer will incur a 4 point penalty for your team.

1 unused free transfer will carry over to the next race.

Leagues

F1 Fantasy is more fun when played with your friends and family.
