The spirit of golf reached its zenith as NCBA Bank proudly revealed the champions of the 2023 NCBA Golf Series on Saturday at at the beautiful Entebbe Golf Club.
The NCBA Golf Series, which first teed off in 2021, has been a resounding success. Following a triumphant inaugural year, the series continued its journey into 2022, featuring over 15 tournaments in Kenya and two in Uganda.
The 2023 NCBA Golf Series comprises a total of 30 tournaments, spread across various golf courses in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
This golfing extravaganza also includes the highly anticipated Junior Golf Series tournament, a partnership with US Kids Golf.
Over 300 young golfers from more than 13 different nations took part in this tournament, vying for a chance to play in the prestigious Rome Classic Tournament in Italy and the Big Five South Africa Tournament.
"Golf to us at NCBA Bank is a means of bringing communities together, which is why we sponsor events like this. " Mark Anthony Muyobo, CEO of NCBA Bank Uganda noted.
"The winners are not only celebrating victory but also have a unique opportunity to participate in the grand finale at Sigona in Nairobi in December, fully sponsored by NCBA Bank."
"The overall winner will be awarded a cash prize of 1,000 KSHs," added. Muyobo.
Serwano Walusimbi, the captain of Entebbe Golf Club, expressed his gratitude to all the participating golfers and characterized the day as one filled with fun and determination
He also announced that the top four winners would be flown to Sigona in Nairobi for the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale.
The tournament introduced an intriguing model, the "Moneyball," represented by the yellow ball, which added an extra layer of excitement to the competition. The winners of this special category were also celebrated.
