Alexandra Ndolo revels after claiming another victory for Kenya at African Championships
Alexandra Ndolo has expressed excitement following her recent achievement at the African Championships.
“Time to shine,” she posted on Instagram on her way to Paris where she has now embarked on her final preparations.
Born to a Kenyan father and a Polish mother, in Bayreuth, a German town in Northern Bavaria, Ndolo fenced for Germany for close to 20 years before she switched allegiance to Kenya in July 2022.
She would get clearance to represent the country at the Paris Olympics in June 2023 before sealing her tickett in March.
Her Olympics journey was, however, bumpy as she had to finance most of her trips to qualification tournaments following a misunderstanding with the Kenyan fencing federation but she would later mend fences and got funding from the National Olympics Committee of Kenya to boost her final preparations.
Team Kenya is looking to expand its medal bracket in Paris after years of relying on athletics and fencing is among the sports seen as capable of adding onto their tally.
