Currently ranked seed four in the Pool Association Uganda (PAU) rankings, Sheila is eyeing a spot in the national team for the All-Africa Blackball Pool championships in South Africa later in October.

Sheilla Ankah hopes to use the upcoming Double-Elimination Pool Championship to polish her cue stick ahead of continental assignments.

Ankah has slowly grown her profile from a random pool player on the tables in Jinja to a national star.

Currently ranked seed four in the Pool Association Uganda (PAU) rankings, Sheila is eyeing a spot in the national team for the All-Africa Blackball Pool championships in South Africa later in October.

Ankah is among the top seeds battling at the 3rd edition of the Double-Elimination Pool Championship on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th at Uppervolta club in Kisubi.

“I’ve prepared well for this tournament to push far in this tournament,” Ankah told Pulse Sports from her training base in Jinja.

“We’re preparing for the AAPA this year and that means I have to perform well in these tournaments to gauge myself and see where to improve. This is a good build-up because all the top players are around as usual which gives you a proper test,” she added.

Ankah will have to battle against top seed Rasheeda Mutesi who beat Zainat Nambafu to win the first edition in the ladies last year.

The Scrap Buyers star will begin her campaign against seed 16 Rashida Nansasi from Sinkers Pool Club.
