The invitational Tournament will start on February 9th with five teams

The organizers of the 2023 BIU Invitational Volleyball Challenge have confirmed that the championship will start on Thursday, February 9th.

The Commanding Officer of the Admin Battalion, Nigerian Army University, Biu, Lieutenant Colonel Julius Usman, said that the BIU Invitational Volleyball Challenge is scheduled for February 9th to 12th.

The event will be held at the Nigerian Army University Volleyball Court and the ABOGO Largema Cantonment in Biu, Borno State.

The participating teams in the invitational tournament include; Yelwa Spikers VC of Bauchi, Abogo Spikers VC of Biu, Boro Spikers VC of Kaduna, Adamawa Spikers VC of Yola, and Rhino VC of Jos.

BIU Invitational Volleyball Challenge will empower youths - Lt Col Usman

Lt Col Usman has said the BIU Invitational Volleyball Challenge 2023 will help empower unemployed youths in the North East through the discovery of their natural talents.

He said that the competition will help to give young players exposure and give them the chance to be selected for Nigerian volleyball leagues.

He admonished the players to believe in themselves, develop their talents, and engage in productive activities that will enable them to become self-reliant.

“The Invitational Challenge will expose players to a high level of competition adding that younger players stand the chance of getting selected ahead of the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Leagues.

“The present Board of Nigeria Volleyball Federation led by Engineer Musa Nimrod is a strong advocate of developmental programs in the country,” he added.

Meanwhile, the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod, said the doors of the Federation are open to corporate organizations that are willing to partner with the body.
