Uruguay and Canada alongside Shujaa, finished outside the top 11 after last weekend’s France 7s in Toulouse.

The London Sevens will be Shujaa’s final stab as they start off their campaign against Canada on Saturday, May 20 to secure a ticket to the 2024 World Rugby Sevens Series.

Next year’s event has now been reduced from 16 to 12 teams and Shujaa will be hoping to make an appearance in the event despite their poor run in the current season.

Uruguay and Canada, who alongside Shujaa, finished outside the top 11 after last weekend’s France 7s in Toulouse will compete with Challenger series winner Tonga for the final of next season’s series.

Shujaa will then face off against Tonga and Uruguay in their subsequent fixtures.

Shujaa finished 13th behind Uruguay and they have so far accumulated 40 points in the 10 legs they have participated in.

The relegation play-off will be round-robin format with the top two teams then playing the final scheduled for Sunday, May 21. The winner will become the 12th core team on the 2024 Series.

The other three teams will enter their respective Regional Sevens Championships in order to qualify for the 2024 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series.
