Amidst the controversy, Maxine Wahome also stamped authority as she cruised to clinch the top honours on the opening day of the event.

Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo, one of the organisers of the RX Rallycross, has expressed his excitement about the number of people who turned up to participate in the event which will draw its curtains today, May 7.

Speaking on KBC, Tundo said he hopes more people will turn in the next events lined up in their calendars. The event is being held at the People's Park in Machakos and it marks the fourth edition.

The first time the event was held in the country was in July 2022 at the same venue.

“We’ve got more people here, a larger crowd and more entertainment. It’s exciting to see more competitors involved. I am happy with the progress. Hopefully, we’ll get even more people enrolling in the next events,” Tundo said.

On day one of the event, Tundo was beat to third-place in the Champions category after Erick Bengi and Andrew Muiruri took the top two slots respectively.

Amidst the controversy, Maxine Wahome also stamped authority as she cruised to clinch the top honours. Carol Gatimu and Natasha Tundo placed second and third respectively.

In the junior category, Jeremiah Wahome blamed technical challenges to his second-place finish.

“I was having a few challenges with shifting since I was driving the car for the first time. However, I’m slowly getting the hang of it,” he said.
