Tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg is now a medal-winning Martial Artist.

The 38-year-old Facebook and Meta founder won gold and silver medals in his debut Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament in California, USA.

Jujutsu, also known as jiu-jitsu and ju-jitsu, is a family of Japanese martial arts and a system of close combat that can be used defensively or offensively to kill or subdue one or more weapon-less or armed and armoured opponents.

Zuckerberg surprised millions as he updated his achievement on his platforms, Instagram and Facebook, saying: “Competed in my first jiu-jitsu tournament and won some medals for the Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu team.”

The billionaire picked up the hobby during the Covid pandemic as a fitness drill before adventuring into becoming a professional.

He has received high praise from top celebrities and his coaches.

One of his coaches, Khai Wu, commented, “Yesterday, getting to see Zuck compete pretty epic. No match was easy, and everything was earned. It was an honour to be able to help coach and offer any advice I could.”

MMA fighter and former UFC champion Conor McGregor congratulated the billionaire: “Yo!!! F***ing awesome, Mark". 

Five-time jiu-jitsu champion Brazilian Bernardo Fariah said: “Amazing!!! Half guard, arm bars, triangle! Super cool!’
