Zeddy Cherotich will represent Kenya in her first ever Olympic appearance after a short career in Judo.

Zeddy who initially pursued javelin after being inspired by the great Julius Yego, switched to Judo just two years ago.

She was able to qualify through the points and ranking system in the judo Olympic qualification rounds.

Pressure now settles on her as she is about to participate in her first ever Olympic competition.

Recently speaking to Kenyan media outlet Citizen, Zeddy explained that she really pushed hard to be able to make it to the Kenyan Olympic team.

She went on to add that the coach only provides 20% of her success and the rest is normally upon her.

Waking up early and keeping her discipline were the ingredients to her quick rise to prominence and eventual national presentation at the Olympics.

To win a Judo round, a player aims to score an ippon by executing a flawless throw that places your opponent on their back, securing a pin for 20 seconds, or applying a successful submission hold.

Winning requires a blend of technical skill, timing, and effective use of judo principles, ensuring that you dominate through precise execution and tactical superiority.
