Handball: Nigeria's Women U18s arrive Tunisia for Africa Women's Youth Championship

Nigeria's women under 18 handball team has arrived in Monastir, Tunisia ahead of the 19th Africa Women's Youth Handball Championship which will commence on Saturday.

The team tutored by Coach Shittu Adewunmi Agboola and his assistant Coach Opuene Roberts left the shores of the country on Thursday morning from the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. 

The team landed on Friday morning at Tunis-Carthage International Airport, Tunis before travelling via bus to Monastir where the competition will be held.

Nigeria in Tunis

The Nigeria delegation is led by the Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Almu Umar Lambu.

The team had been in close camping at the Rowe Park Sports Center in Yaba Lagos and had played four friendly matches against the Tojemarine Academy Under 17 Boys team and ASPAC HBC of Benin Republic.

They played their last friendly match against friendly match against the top Benin Republic club which they won 27-21.

Nigeria is in group A with two times champions and hosts, Tunisia, Algeria and Guinea.

They will play their first match against Algeria on Saturday at 2 p.m.
