Wu Yibing produced the best performance of his career, overcoming John Isner to win the Dallas Open.

It was a big moment for China in Dallas, as Wu Yibing became the first Chinese man to win an ATP singles title in Open Era.

In an incredible match that lasted almost three hours, Yibing defeated John Isner 6-7 (4) 7-6(3) 7-6(12) to win the Dallas Open.

The 23-year-old won an epic decisive set tiebreak against the tiebreak man Isner, after saving four match points in the second and third set tiebreaks.

Yibing had a good run and faced stiff competitors to being crowned champion. He defeated Micheal Mmoh, Denis Shapovalov, Adrian Mannarino, and Taylor Fritz.

Wu Yibing had a fairytale run and victory in Dallas

In his post-match on-court interview, a proud Yibing was grateful he made history for his country.

"I made history here for my country and for my home. I'm very proud of myself, and especially thanks to all the fans and my team who come here and support me. I couldn't do any of these without you guys, and thanks again."

Isner had very kind words for Yibing. "Congratulations to you. I think you're gonna be a very bright spot for the sport of tennis in future, and I wish you nothing but continued success going forward," he said.

Isner is known as the master of tiebreaks

Yibing has been doing so well on the Challenger Tour and brought that form to the ATP Tour. He has surely announced himself brilliantly with this win.

The youngster is expected to rise to No. 58 in the ATP rankings on Monday, which will be the highest ATP ranking ever for a Chinese man.
