David Matano of Thika Sports Club floored a strong field of 256 golfers to emerge the Overall winner of his home club’s leg of the NCBA Golf Series held on Saturday, May 27.
Playing off handicap 3, Matano scored an impressive score of 32 stableford points, to triumph. In the men’s gross category, Simon Ndung'u, playing off handicap 6 scored 31 stableford points, solidifying his position as the top contender in the category. He beat Chege who was playing off handicap 11 and scored 27 stableford points.
In the ladies' gross category, Naomi Kimata playing off handicap 13, emerged as the champion with a remarkable score of 27 stableford points. Coming in second was Winnie Mugo who scored 19 stableford points.
In the overall nett category for men, David Mwangi, playing off a handicap of 18, emerged as the champion with a remarkable score of 38 stableford points.
Bibiana Kariuki, playing off a handicap of 36, clinched the overall nett category title among the ladies with an impressive score of 40 stableford points.
The junior category witnessed a remarkable display of talent, with Garcia Kimemia emerging as the champion. Playing off a handicap of 18, Kimemia's score of 28 nett points were enough to earn him the bragging rights among the juniors.
In other results, Ndegwa Thuku claimed the longest drive title in the men's category, while Lucy Maina emerged victorious among the ladies. At the same time, Gibson Singen showcased remarkable precision, securing the Nearest to the Pin title.
