Ex-Sports CS Ababu Namwamba has sang his praises yet again, saying his successor Kipchumba Murkomen will have it easy thanks to the foundations he laid.
Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba believes his successor Kipchumba Murkomen will have a smooth ride thanks to the foundations he laid at the ministry.
Namwamba is among the CSs who did not make it back after President William Ruto sacked his entire Cabinet last month in the wake of countrywide protests over his government.
Former Road CS Murkomen is the man now tasked with steering the Sports Ministry and the former Budalang’i MP is confident that the ex-Elgeyo Marakwet Senator has what it takes to succeed and will benefit greatly from the path he created.

Hope for Namwamba? Latest research shows Kenyans favour ex-Sports CS's reappointment
Former Sports CS Ababu Namwamba is among those who are favoured to make a comeback to the Cabinet, as per the latest research by TIFA.
“I inherited a Ministry rock bottom on performance, impact and ratings, worsened by multiple international bans on sports like football and a doping crisis,” Namwamba said while enumerating his achievements.
“21 months later, I hand over a Ministry reborn. Not only have all international suspensions been lifted and doping confronted decisively, but we have also returned Kenya to the elite league of hosting events like Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Am super proud of the incredible record I leave behind, which includes:
“4 Bills, 2 Policy drafts to formalise the Creative Economy, revitalise Youth Empowerment and raise Kenyan Sports to a new dimension.

Historic international partnerships with NBA, Grammys, Invention Studios of Hollywood, China, SA, India and Cuba to power sports and creatives to new heights.
“Monetisation of sports and arts with epic initiatives like Talanta Hela and WhozNext which have seen increased cashflow to the pockets of sportspersons and creatives.
