The Federal Government's decision to revert to the old national anthem is posing a unique challenge for Nigerian wrestler Odunayo Adekuoroye as she prepares for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Adekuoroye is not alone in her reservations about the anthem change. Several other Nigerian athletes have voiced concerns about learning a new anthem they weren't raised with, adding an extra layer of complexity to their training for the Olympics.

“I no fit dey practice new techniques still dey learn new anthem,” Adekuroye stated.

Adekuoroye is determined to finally claim an Olympic medal in Paris, as she will need to balance learning the new anthem alongside perfecting her wrestling skills.
