Iga Swiatek and Jessica Pegula will face off in the women's singles final in Doha.
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek was in exceptional form in her semifinal clash with Veronika Kudermetova, rolling over the eleventh seed 6-0 6-1, to set up a final clash with Jessica Pegula in Doha.
Swiatek needed just 55 minutes to displace Kudermetova, winning the first set in 24 minutes, and took the second set in 31 minutes.
By doing this, she lost just two games in two matches on her way to the final.
She had a bye in the first round, ousted Danielle Collins 6-0 6-1 in the second round, had a walkover in the quarterfinal after Belinda Bencic retired from the tournament, and then this semifinal victory.
Pegula beats Sakkari to reach Doha final
World No. 4 Jessica Pegula defeated seventh seed Maria Sakkari 6-2 4-6 6-1, to reach the final in Doha.
Pegula broke Sakkari's serves nine times to take the needed victory. She improved her singles wins to 11-2 in 2023, losing only to Petra Kvitova and Victoria Azarenka.
She will now face Swiatek in the final, and no matter the result will move up to No. 3 on the ATP rankings on Monday.
