Andy Murray gave another masterclass performance in Doha, to reach fifth his first final since June. He will face Daniil Medvedev who defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Andy Murray is the master of comebacks in 2023, defeating Jiri Lehecka 0-6 6-3 7-6(6) to reach his fifth Doha final.
Murray came back from 3-5 down and 4-5 0-40 down in the third set, saving a total of five match points to beat the in-form Lehecka.
It is his first final since June, and his third win from Match Points down in 2023.
Lehecka easily cruised to victory in the first set, winning 6-0. At 3-0 up in the second set, it looked as if he was goinf for another easy win, but the British icon made a huge comeback to win the set 6-3 and force a decider.
The third set saw Murray break from 40-0 down to force 5-5 from 3-5 with a total of five match points saved to eventually win 7-6(6).
His victory over Lehecka is his sixth win in 2023, all in deciding sets and half of them from Match Points down.
The former World No. 1 will face Daniil Medvedev or Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final.
