Israel Adesanya went emotional when he vowed to beat up South African MMA star Dricus Du Plessis.

Israel Adesanya has vowed to defeat South African middleweight contender Dricus Du Plessis if he successfully gets past Robert Withakker.

The winner of the bout will face the Last Style Bender for a shot at the middleweight strap in Sydney, Australia, in September.

Izzy reclaimed his middleweight crown from Alex Pereira following a first round knockout at UFC 287 in Miami, United States.

And the Nigerian-born mixed martial artist wishes to face Du Plessis in his next fight instead of a potential trilogy with Withakker.

What the Last Style Bender said

While the 34-year-old was being interviewed by Ariel Helwani, he got emotional using the Nigerian language when talking about the former South African MMA champion.

Adesanya said on MMA Hour:

“What the f***k do you need to question the Africanness in Me, Francis Ngannou and Kamaru Usman.

“I’m going to manifest him winning this fight (against Withakker) in the first round and when he does I’m gonna be right there in the cage so he can turn around next September.

“No bulls**t, no I’m hurt, this and that … we going to fight in Sydney in September.

“But i really, really, really walahi, Olorun, hope its DDP, because I’ll show him who the f***k I am.”
