Nemour was born in France as she began competing for her father's native country, Algeria, in 2023 after facing significant hurdles with the French Gymnastics Federation.

A career-threatening knee injury and subsequent disputes with the French federation nearly derailed her dreams.

Despite these challenges, Nemour persevered before successfully switching her nationality and quickly made waves on the international stage.

Her performance at the Paris Olympics, where she also finished fifth in the all-around, solidified her status as a rising star in gymnastics.

Nemour's gold medal not only marks a personal triumph but also inspires future generations of African athletes.

"I'm so shocked, it's the dream of all my life. I can't believe it has happened, I'm the Olympic champion," Nemour said after her victory.

Nemour had already won a silver medal at the World Championships in 2023.
