Nigerian Nightmare Kamaru Usman says he is on a sabbatical from UFC, warns Leon Edwards ahead of return.

There is news about Nigerian Mixed Martial Artist Kamaru Usman.

Not just because Edwards is his former opponent, but also because UFC 304 has Edwards and Belal Muhammad as the main event, Kamaru Usman, the former UFC welterweight champion, will be watching this fight very carefully.

Kamaru Usman on Leon Edwards

When Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards first met in 2015 at the start of their individual careers, a rivalry was born. When they fought for undisputed gold, they reconnected twice, with "Rocky" emerging victorious each time.

"The Nigerian Nightmare," who may eventually make a permanent move up to the weight class, stepped up to 185 pounds for their quick bout against Khamzat Chimaev, after their previous fight at UFC 286.

It doesn't appear that the 37-year-old former welterweight champion will stick with middleweight, even though he fought at 185 pounds his last time out.

Before "Rocky's" third championship defense against Belal Muhammad on Saturday, Usman has cautioned the British fighter not to settle into his welterweight position too much since he has hinted that he will return to the division in order to win the gold again.

Usman continued by acknowledging that he believes Edwards would probably hold onto his title, but he also said he believes "Remember The Name" Muhammad has a chance to pull off the upset.
