Barbora Krejcikova played a masterclass tennis defeating top seed Iga Swiatek for her sixth WTA career singles title.
Barbora Krejcikova was in exceptional form in the women's singles final at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, defeating world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in straight sets of 6-4 6-2 to win her sixth WTA singles title.
The Czech played flawless tennis like she has been doing all week, taking advantage of Swiatek's bad day in the office.
She easily won the first set, and then played an absolute masterclass in her returns in the second set for 6-4, winning her first-ever Hologic WTA Tour 1000 title.
Krejcikova is the only player to beat Swiatek at two consecutive WTA-level finals, her first being at Ostrava 2022.
Her victory also means she has defeated world No. 1, world No. 2 (Aryna Sabalenka), and world No. 3 (Jessica Pegula) in a single week.
