We have 150 players registered but I can tell you that the portal for registration almost crashed due to the huge numbers of players wanting to be in the game for this Classics. The expectations are very high with over 4 million naira in prize money which is a whooping sum which indeed is a record. A lot of players are looking forward to this both professionals and non-professionals and so, I expect that the young one will pull it off."

"We have celebrities who will be around for the tournament. Overall, the Lekki Scrabble Classics for this year will be the center of attraction this weekend."

License International, Front-page Couture, Midasfarms, MGi, Elcrest E&P, Ayodele Thomas Consulting, Julyet Peters, and AGPC gave their blessings to this edition while the Pan African Scrabble Association (PANASA) will provide the boards

150 players who got their tickets punched to be at the glorious gathering will play 18 rounds of games before the winners will emerge.
