Njoroge is joined by his older brother Mutahi and they will tee up together for the first time on the DP World Tour.
“It’s exciting…it’s pretty far from home and I’ve never been this far as a professional. It’s going to be a great experience…I’m excited,” he said.
He revealed that he received the good news after the Magical Kenya Open which happened back in March. He was in action during the event and finished 65th in the highly-contested championship.
“I received the news about a month after the Kenya Open and it was kind of a surprise. I was in South Africa and I got the call and from then on, I have been training smart. This is definitely the start of many more opportunities in the future,” he said.
During the Magical Kenya Open, Kibugu was also in action with his brother, Njoroge Kibugu, who finished 100th in the event. He quipped that his brother feels jealous of him getting the opportunity.
