The Nigeria Cycling Federation (NCF) is actively preparing for a momentous year in 2024, with the Paris Olympics as a focal point. The NCF's strategy involves enhancing the sport's popularity in Nigeria and building upon the successes of previous years.

Femi Thomas, a member of the NCF and chairman of FT Cycle Care, highlighted the Federation's initiatives for 2024.

He stated: "I am also using this opportunity to call on the corporate world to take advantage of the opportunity to advertise their goods and services on our customised cycling jerseys. It is pocket friendly and they are assured of good mileage for their patronage."

This approach is part of the NCF's efforts to develop cycling by attracting corporate support and funding through advertising opportunities. The funds raised will be utilized to purchase quality bicycles, conduct training programs, provide better welfare packages for cyclists, and organize regular tournaments, both domestically and internationally.

The NCF's plans are bolstered by the achievements of Nigerian cyclists like Ese Ukpeseraye and Kurotimi Abaka, who have qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Abaka's qualification came after winning a gold medal in the Class B Tendam elite men’s category at the 19th African Road Cycling Championship in Ghana. These successes highlight the potential of Nigerian cyclists on the global stage, provided they receive sufficient support and resources.
