The Imo Command of the commission inaugurated the court for its officers.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Imo Command, has inaugurated a beach volleyball court.
The court will be used by the officers of the commission.
We will build more sports facilities - NIS Imo
The Imo NIS Controller, Nkechi Ezugwu, confirmed that plans exist to build additional sporting facilities within the command.
The Vice President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVF) added that she wants her officer to indulge more in sports.
"It is often said that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. It is against this backdrop that we decided to establish a standard court for officers and men.
“It is a known fact that sports have in no small measure taken people to places of prominence and affluence around the globe,“ she said.
Meanwhile, the President of NVF, Musa Nimrod, asked the cops to use the court to stay active so they could execute their jobs more effectively.
He expressed gratitude to the state government for continuing to support the growth of sports in the region.
Nimrod promised that the federation would be willing to work with the state to advance volleyball.
At the event, the Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodimma of Imo was represented by . Bright Nwelue, his Chief of Protocol.
Others include the state's leaders of the military and paramilitary organizations, as well as Imo's commissioner of sports, Mr. Emeka Okonkwo, who is represented by Mr. Chinedu Umeh.
