Nigeria win 12 medals, finishes 5th at African Beach Game

Simeon Akinsola and Sunday Chibuzo both won gold for Nigeria in the Men's Triple event. Nigeria continues to triumph in the captivating sport of Teqball, winning gold and two silver medals while astounded spectators with their outstanding technique and agility.

Team Nigeria finished the 2nd African Beach Games, fifth place in overall medal table after capturing six gold, three silver, and three bronze medals.

The Team Nigeria contingent proved their athletic skills across several sports to collect 12 medals. The accomplishments covered a wide range of sports, showcasing the adaptability and talent of Nigerian athletes.

Tony Nezianya, the Nigerian Olympic Committee's (NOC) public relations officer, said that this admirable accomplishment reflects a major improvement over the previous games in Cape Verde with just one gold medal, Nigeria placed seventh overall in the medal standings.

A gold medal in beach wrestling was won by Blessing Oborodudu (C) in Tunisia.

In the Badminton Mixed Doubles competition, Oluwadamilola Oyedepo and Kayode Samuel of Team Nigeria won the nation's first gold medal.
