Nigerian Para Athletes gear up for Paris 2024 Paralympics as Camps open in Lagos, Abuja

Training camps have officially opened in Lagos and Abuja ahead of the Paralympic Games scheduled for Paris from August 28th to September 8th, 2024.

The Nigerian Paralympic Committee (NPC) is pulling out all the stops to ensure its athletes are in peak condition for the upcoming Paris 2024 Paralympics.

Training camps have officially opened in Lagos and Abuja as the Paralympic Games will be held in Paris from August 28th to September 8th, 2024.

Para-athletes and para-badminton players are camped in Abuja while Powerlifters and para table tennis players will be based in Lagos for their focused training.

NPC President Mr. Sunday Odebode, emphasised the importance of these camps. He said, "With the Paralympics fast approaching, the NPC is committed to leaving no stone unturned in preparing our athletes.

"These intensive camps will ensure they are in top physical shape come game time. We are confident they will excel and bring glory to Nigeria."

Mr. Odebode also revealed plans for other sports federations to begin their training camps as soon as suitable venues are secured.
