Patrick Bernard Ogwel will stay as the General Secretary with Kiprotich, a 2013 World champion, a board member.
Stephen Kiprotich, an Olympics Marathon gold medalist in 2012, has formed part of the newly appointed Board for the National Council of Sports in Uganda, as the case was in the previous tenure.
The board, which is tasked with the running overall supervision of sports in the country, was ushered in on Tuesday at the Chimney Cooper House, Lugogo.
The team comprises eight members from the previous 12, with Ambrose Tashobya reappointed by the State Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang as the Chairman.

Meanwhile, Tashobya vowed to foster more sports growth in what he termed a 'new chapter.'
“We open up a new chapter of continued work and development. Together with my team, we established a very solid plan for the upcoming period 2024-2028. Much more will be attained and achieved in these four years," he said.
“NCS is focused towards the redevelopment of the Lugogo sports complex. We have entered partnerships with other institutions of Government such as Kyambogo University, KCCA and Uganda Investment Authority."
The new National Council of Sports will serve the sect for the next four years (till 2028).
