Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala and Malkia Strikers captain Trizah Atuka will be Kenya’s flag bearers at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony on Friday.
Omanyala and Atuka have been bestowed the honour of carrying the country’s flag at the ceremony that will be held at River Reine in Paris, France.
Team Kenya is jointly led by multiple world and Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon as well as Kenya Sevens co-captain Tony Omondi as skippers and will hope for a better outing than in Tokyo when 10 medals were won.

Omanyala and Atuka will follow in the footsteps of Andrew Amonde and Mercy Moim, who carried the flag at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Games, and Shehzana Anwar, the flag bearer for Kenya at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Kenya Sevens players were the first to check into the Olympics Village as their action will start on Wednesday and were joined by Malkia Strikers as well as judoka Zeddy Cherotich at the weekend.
Track and field stars will be the next to leave the country for Paris as excitement builds towards the Games in the French capital.
