Paralympic Committee of Nigeria gets new executives

The Paralympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN) has inaugurated new executives as the minister of sports and youth development, Sunday Dare tasked them with ensuring inclusivity to retain podium finishes in all international tournaments.

Dare expressed optimism during the inauguration event, which took place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, that Nigeria will undoubtedly continue to win medals for its Paralympians because of the caliber of members chosen.

According to him, Para-Sports is one of the games that has lifted the nation's flag high in global events and as such, the athletes need encouragement and support to enhance their performances

He urged the new Board to use its abundance of experience and expertise to ensure that the country's Paralympic sporting events are properly administered.

He praised the Delta State Government for agreeing to host the Congress while thanking the newly elected board members.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary, of the Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar said that the Ministry would continue to offer a favorable environment for the implementation of the current Administration's policies as it impacts Paralympians, he promised the incoming Board Members.

Represented by the Director, Federation, Elites and Athletes Development (FEAD), Dr Simon Ebhojaiye, the Permanent Secretary therefore charged them to justify the confidence reposed on them by the electorate and members

Responding, the newly elected President of, the Paralympic Committee Nigeria (PCN), Mr. Odebode Sunday, assured that under their tenure, Nigeria is sure to witness more podium appearances from the athletes.
